#WomenofSEWA Sangeetaben (Artisans’ co-op)

Sangeetaben grew up in Raipur, Ahmedabad amongst three sisters and one brother. 

She was sent to a hostel in fifth grade to complete further studies after her mother passed away. She studied till tenth grade but failed her exam. She returned home to work and contribute to her family-run tea shop. She started working at a screen printing house and got married at age nineteen. After marriage she moved to Chandranagar and joined SEWA to contribute to the household.

With the extra money she earned, she gifted her children gold jewelry. Working with SEWA let’s her get out of the house, uplifts her spirits supports her ambition of being a self-driven woman. 

Bought gold jewelry for children. I like going out to work, because this gives my encouragement and uplifts my spirits.
